Learning to paraglide is a step-by-step progression designed to build your skills, confidence, and decision-making in the air. Our training follows the standards of the Hang Gliding and Paragliding Association of Canada (HPAC).
P1 – Beginner (Student Pilot)
P1 is your introduction to the sport. No prior experience is needed.
In this course, you’ll learn the fundamentals of flying, including:
Ground handling and wing control
Launching and landing techniques
Basic aerodynamics and safety
Radio-guided solo flights
By the end of P1, you’ll have completed your first flights and developed the foundational skills needed to continue your training as an HPAC Student Pilot.
P2 – Novice Pilot
P2 builds on everything you learned in P1 and is where you begin to develop independence as a pilot.
You’ll continue progressing through:
Additional coached flights (minimum 25 total)
Improved launch, landing, and flight control
Airspace awareness and flight planning
Decision-making and site assessment
The P2 course culminates in a flight and written exam, after which you’ll earn your HPAC Novice (P2) rating.
P2 courses follow P1, and we’ll guide you through the full progression as you continue your training.
